For forty years, locally owned Wanigan has been a familiar and welcoming sight along the water in Bay City. A place where laughter carries across the river and memories are made one meal at a time. Our building honors Bay City’s lumber heritage, echoing the history of the river that once carried floating kitchens—wanigans—serving hardworking lumbermen long ago.
Just five minutes from downtown Bay City, dine indoors with cozy comfort, step onto our patio, or wander through our beautifully landscaped garden. We’re open six days a week for lunch and dinner, and our kitchen extends beyond our walls through catering for special events and office gatherings. You may also rent Wanigan for your special occasion and use the large patio, tent, garden or indoor restaurant.
Our extensive menu offers: more than 32 legendary sandwiches, classic fish dinners, hearty appetizers, fresh salads, comforting soups, and savory desserts. Guests return not only for the food, but for the genuine, personal service that makes everyone feel like family. Wanigan is also a gathering place for the community. Live local music fills our Fridays, children smile during “Cone with a Cop,” and our support reaches local artists, charities, veterans, and schools.
